Research Interests
Dr Raviteja's research is dedicated to the pursuit of sustainable solutions in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering. A focus is placed on enhancing system reliability and probability through innovative design approaches. A significant aspect of the work involves the utilisation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for geotechnical and geoenvironmental monitoring, leading to the revolutionisation of monitoring techniques and the acquisition of real-time, high-resolution data for improved project management. Additionally, developing eco-friendly geosynthetic-clay liners for waste containment facilities is actively engaged, utilising industrial by-products to promote environmentally conscious practices and reduce waste. To enhance waste landfill slope stability, Dr Raviteja employs probabilistic optimisation and Gaussian Mixture Models (GMM), considering uncertainties and variations in design parameters for effective risk mitigation. Furthermore, exploring the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to address complex challenges in the fields is pursued, aiming to se decision-making processes and predict potential hazards while enhancing overall engineering system efficiency. Integral to the research is the search for sustainable methods to improve problematic soils using industrial by-products, thereby contributing to environmental preservation and cost-effective soil improvement techniques.
