Mission and Objective
SRM AP, Andhra Pradesh is establishing ‘Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (IDEA)’. It was envisioned with the strategic alliance with UC Berkeley to create an academy combining their Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Jacob Center of Design and Innovation.
IDEA will foster the culture of innovation, design and entrepreneurship among the students of all streams including engineering, liberal arts and sciences, and management. The students will find the programs exciting, working in the labs and maker spaces, developing prototypes, interacting with best of entrepreneurs and industry leaders, initiating, developing and pitching-in an idea before venture capitalist for start-ups. The students will also be provided with start-up funds, incubation and connections across the globe.

Activities Planned
- One week full-time boot camp on entrepreneurship in July 2020. Time frame: 2 credit hrs
- One week full-time boot camp on design and innovation in July to Aug 2020. Time frame: 2 credit hrs
- Full semester course on Technology Entrepreneurship -starting July 2020. Time frame: 3 credit hrs
- Full semester course on Design Thinking - starting July 2020. Time frame: 3 credit hrs
- Ratan TATA lecture series on entrepreneurship - Starting July 2020- weekly lectures by budding entrepreneurs. Time frame: 1 credit hr
Current Status
- Fab Lab (prototyping lab) is in the process of establishment, which will give students space and facilities to develop their ideas into product prototypes. (Equipment Vendors please contact Prakash.j@srmap.edu.in)
