Overview
The Mechanical Engineering Department addresses the world’s chief concern of energy efficiency and alternate resources. We push forward to identify and utilise new renewable power sources for a greener and cleaner world. We focus on creating and analysing materials to change how we live our lives. We indulge in making the students feel the spirit of understanding the key concepts of Mechanical Engineering ranging from Kinematics, Thermodynamics, Manufacturing, etc. Students in turn experience the ease of applying conceptual learning in the design and analysis of mechanical concepts such as aircraft, heating and cooling systems, industrial equipment & machinery, etc.
Academics
The Department offers BTech, MTech and PhD programs in the field of Mechanical Engineering. The curriculum includes industrial interactions, applied engineering and research.
Research
The Department’s key focus is to identify and utilise new and renewable power sources for a greener and cleaner world. The research focus is on the fields of Design, New Materials, Fluid Mechanics/Fluid Dynamics, Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, Thermal analysis and other interdisciplinary research in collaboration with industries and universities within India and abroad.
